Ashy Experts are We

the heat’s a record yet again
this poet’s un-refrain
fan’s a-whirring on day ten
burn the fuel
make it cool
burn to cool then cool the burn
it sounds like us
fixing jangling clanking
with new jangling clanking
using motors to make it to tomorrow
piling horror onto horror
