I started writing these things on June 13, 2022. I read all the way across (or down) on a crossword puzzle and sometimes funny phrases jump out. After finding a phrase I like, I write a clue to describe the phrase. Usually I’m working toward humor, sometimes toward precision, and sometimes to the opposite of precision. Early week puzzles are usually more fruitful and Sunday puzzles are tough as the phrases are longer and rarely turn into a meaningful idea. Abbreviations almost always kill a possible uniclue answer. Occasionally I have time to turn a clue or phrase into a short piece of fiction. I post my first drafts on Tumblr and the Rex Parker blog. Occasionally I have time to turn a clue or phrase into a short piece of fiction and I post those on here.
